We currently have more than 300 hives spread across São Miguel Island, whose hygiene and safety are always guaranteed, as well as the quality of the final product, made in our facilities with appropriate and specific conditions for this purpose.
Honey is considered one of the only natural products that contains sugars, enzymes and several vitamins fundamental to human health. However, before arriving at your home ready to consume, know that it goes through a long process.
Stages of honey production
Step 1 – Extraction
First, we remove the wax frames from the hive and then proceed to extract the surface layer created by the bees to close the combs. This uncapping is mostly done with a pre-heated knife. However, we use built-in equipment with heated uncapping machines that help and facilitate the honey extraction process. This process is carried out by centrifugation in stainless steel where the frames with honey are fixed on stands, together with the force caused by the machine, to detach the honey from the combs. Thus, after this extraction, the honey is at the bottom of the equipment ready to be filtered.
Step 2 – Preservation
This is the honey resting period after its extraction. The honey is transferred to stainless steel drums and is decanted for 4 weeks so that all its impurities come out and it is ready for the final consumer.
Step 3 – Packaging
Finally, the product is packaged for later distribution. This packaging is done in our facilities, in appropriate clean and sterilized glass containers and in a specific environment.
